Have Fun with Your Friends During the City's Summer Concert Series

If you enjoy listening to music, then you don't want to miss the Downtown Sounds Summer Concert Series.

It takes place on select dates at Veterans Memorial Park, and in addition to musical acts, it also features a beer garden and artisans who make an array of handmade goods.

This year's performers include:

The Alpaca Gnomes (July 21)

The Alpaca Gnomes is a seven-piece original rock/folk band known for bringing musical joy to people of all ages. They hail from nearby Bridgeport and add to the fun by wearing gnome hats during each performance. Their ensemble features acoustic and electric guitars, keys, drums, bass, violins, and percussion, and their electric style has allowed them to perform with artists such as Anders Osborne, The Drifters, and Railroad Earth.

Gracie Day and The Knights (July 28)

After growing up in Massachusetts, Gracie Day now calls Hartford home. She has hundreds of fans up and down the New England Coast, and her honest, raw lyrics take audiences on an emotional journey.

Creamery Station (August 4)

This Connecticut based band mixes together several genres of music such as blues, rock, and bluegrass to provide the crowd with an experience they won't soon forget. The group began from humble beginnings, and today they entertain audiences across the state as well as in New York City.
