Named as the number one Japanese restaurant in Orange by the New Haven Register, Wasabi is owned by Grace and Tom Ke. They created an ambiance that features Asian decor such as shiny red mahogany tables, black wooden chairs, bamboo shades, and a Neko cat that encourages guests to enter. To keep things fresh, the chefs introduce new appetizers and sushi rolls every three months. They use high quality ingredients and rolls include Lobster Tempura, Philadelphia, and Spicy Scallop.
Momo is Japanese for peach, and this restaurant is known for serving some of the best sushi in the area. The sushi chefs are talented as well as entertaining, and the staff often knows customers by name and enjoys teaching everyone about the different meals. Menu options include Salmon Belly, Chicken Teriyaki, and Eel Avocado Rolls.
Daiko Japanese Restaurant
Master Chef Jerry San founded Daiko in 1999, and used the name as it's a drum used for stress relief, to personify his laid-back and calming personality. When he first immigrated to the United States, he trained under a master chef in New York for five years before relocating to Connecticut. When he opened the restaurant, it was an instant hit, and has received many recognitions such as being named best Japanese Restaurant by Connecticut Magazine. The menu includes Beef Negamaki, Yosen Nabe, and Red Snapper.
