There are always unique restaurants opening in the Shelton area. If you love Asian cuisines, then you have to visit Bangkok Room, a new Thai restaurant that opened in February of 2017.
This casual restaurant has a modern vibe, with exposed air ducts, glowing pendant lights, and simple furniture. You can sit up at the bar and watch your food be prepared or grab a table. Everything is served on bright, white plates for an elegant look, and the servers can help you decide what to order if you are new to Thai cuisine.
On the menu at Bangkok Room, you'll find classic selections like pad Thai, a dish made with rice noodles, lemongrass, veggies, and a delicious peanut sauce. There are also less conventional options, like the spicy chicken salad and the Drunken Noodles, made with fresh carrots, onions, and peppers. Guests love the red curry, which is served with a side of sticky rice. Make sure you accompany your meal with a delicious Thai iced tea, served in a mason jar. It's quite refreshing after a long day! There are also plenty of sharable appetizers, like the crab rangoon, fresh rolls, and vegetable tempura.
Thai food is traditionally hot, but at Bangkok Room, you can have the kitchen adjust the spice level of any dish to suit your tastes. There are also plenty of vegetarian options, from the papaya salad to the spring rolls.
