Visit A Craft Beer Festival

On October 7th, Matthies Field is hosting five acres of craft beer, homebrew, and live musical entertainment.

We're talking about Smoke in the Valley, and it's the largest craft beer festival in the state.

The event raises money for local non-profit groups such as food banks and volunteer firefighters, and it takes place rain or shine.

Year-round choices include Porter, Red's Rye IPA, and Centennial IPA.

Charter Oak Brewing Company - Charter Oak calls Danbury home and boasts that it's the newest brewery in the state that features hand-crafted innovative beers. They're brewed in small batches, and choices include 1687 Brown Ale, Wadsworth India Pale Ale, and Royal Charter Pale Ale.

Ballast Point - Ballast Point is traveling to the festival all the way from San Diego. The owner enjoys fishing which is why many of the beers are named after fish or fishing terms. Choices include Manta Ray Double IPA, Sea Rose Tart Cherry Wheat Ale, and Sculpin India Rose Ale.
