If you're looking for something different from the usual dinner-out options, look no further than Grow, a wonderful farm-to-table cafe on Howe Ave in Shelton, CT. Grow is family owned and operated, and the chef is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. The menu is comprised of home-made meals from locally farmed ingredients.
Grow has separate menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The selections are healthy and include organic produce and fresh meat, poultry, and fish. Eating a meal at Grow is like being offered a seat in a cozy family home. The service is prompt and always with a smile. The atmosphere is homey and warm. It is evident that the family who owns it takes a great deal of pride in it, as summarized by this quote by Michelle Bialek from the restaurant's website: "I am so proud of what we have created and am amazed at the amount of love that flows through our door each and every day."
The specials change daily, but some favorites on their dinner menu include balsamic glazed salmon, butternut squash ravioli & lobster, and bacon-wrapped meatloaf. They also have a wide variety of soups which change daily. You can find out what they're serving on their Facebook page. That's also where they'll keep you posted about the live musicians they feature every Saturday from 11:30-1:30, and their happy hour specials.
There is a private room called The Den which can be reserved for groups of up to ten for special events. It has its own special menu available on their website which you can customize to your group's preferences.
Grow is closed on Mondays but is open Tuesday-Thursday 11:00-9:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00-10:00, and Sunday 10:00-3.
